How We Operate

CWA operates by consensus. Decisions are made by democratic voting of the board of directors or the entire membership, as appropriate. But whenever possible, we try to reach a consensus in which all members can at least partly agree and can support the decision.

CWA is not a political or advocacy organization. We avoid taking positions on controversial issues.

CWA is supported by donations from its members and from members of the communities in the watershed, in the form of money and volunteer time. We also seek out grant money where available and appropriate. CWA has been awarded a Federal Clean Water Act Section 319 (h) grant from the State of New Mexico Environment Department.
